Privacy notice

What Aspicio keeps, which services handle it for us, and what leaves your browser when you use the site.

In short

  • No ads, nothing sold, and no tracking across other sites.
  • You can draw a chart without an account. A chart drawn that way is not saved in our database: its birth details travel in the chart's own link.
  • A random sample of visits reports how fast pages load. A report carries no account, no IP address and no page link.
  • A few features send words you write or highlight, or an image you upload, to an AI service. Each one is named below with what it sends.
  • Our database and our server code are in the United States, though Vercel's network answers some requests from near you.

What Aspicio keeps

With an account. The email you sign in with; the people and events you save, with their names and birth dates, times and places; the charts you save and their titles; the private links you make to a chart, each holding that chart's birth details; your appearance and chart settings; the astrology experience you choose to share; and, if you are a Supporter, the state of your membership. Revoking a private link stops it opening, but its record stays with your account until you ask us to delete it.

In the Community. Your handle, display name, bio and profile page; your threads, replies and messages; the charts you attach; and a record of each automatic screening. To award stamps, Aspicio notes the days you visit Community pages, with your time zone, and the Learn pages you read to the end while signed in. What other members can see is set out under Privacy and safety in Settings.

Profile page views. A view is counted once per visitor a day: by account when you are signed in, otherwise by a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day. The IP address itself is not stored, and marks older than two days are cleared as new views come in.

For AI explanations. A count of the questions you ask each day, so the daily limit holds. Answers go into a shared cache with no account attached, so a repeated question is answered without asking the model again.

Performance samples. A timing and how it rates, the kind of page (such as /chart, never the full link), phone or desktop, the connection type, how the page was opened (such as a reload or the back button) and how far it had loaded, the site version, and which part of the page was slowest, as a code for the element, never its text. They are deleted after 90 days.

Cookies and browser storage. The cookies Aspicio sets are its own, for signing in and for the choices you make, such as the site's look, your chart settings and the voice of your daily column. There are no advertising cookies. Your browser's own storage keeps choices on this device, including the ones you made before signing in, as well as drafts you have not posted and whether this tab was picked for a performance sample. It reaches Aspicio only as you use it: some choices are also kept in the cookies above, making an account carries the introduction's choices into it, and a draft goes when you post it.

Services that handle data for us

These are the outside services the site uses, what each one is for, and what it receives.

Supabase
Our database and sign-in, in the eastern United States (Ohio). It holds everything listed under What Aspicio keeps except the cookies and browser storage, which stay in your browser.
Vercel
Hosts the site. The site's server code runs in the eastern United States, with two exceptions: the first check on each request, which reads your sign-in cookie, runs on Vercel's network near you, and pages that are the same for everyone are served from its cache around the world. Like any host, it sees each request, including a chart's link with the birth details in it. It also receives the performance samples. On a random sample of visits your browser sends page timings to Aspicio's own address on Vercel, and which part of the page was slowest, as a code for the element, never its text. Our server code there stores them in Supabase without your IP address, account or page link. Automated browsers are never sampled.
Google Gemini
Writes an AI explanation when you highlight words our reading library cannot answer, for signed-in readers only. Gemini receives the highlighted words, the sentence around them, the chart's label if it has one, and the positions computed from the chart: signs, degrees, houses and aspects. The label is the place name or the person's name carried in the chart's link, up to six words, or the label you gave a saved person. Gemini does not receive the birth date or time, though positions can point to them. Images you upload to a Community profile page also go to Gemini, to be checked before anyone else sees them.
OpenRouter and TypeSafe
OpenRouter passes requests to Jev, a decision model made by TypeSafe. Jev answers fixed questions and writes no text. It screens Community writing before other members see it: threads, replies, messages, profile names and bios, profile pages, and the label of a chart you share, with its birth date, time and city when you choose to show them. It also checks each sentence of an AI explanation against the chart's positions and our library. Every request asks OpenRouter to use only providers that keep no copy of it (zero data retention), and that setting is on for Aspicio's whole OpenRouter account. TypeSafe says it runs Jev in the western United States.
The electional helper's models
Supporters can describe an occasion on Electional Search and ask the helper to draft search rules. The question you type, up to 500 characters, and today's date go through OpenRouter to Google's Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite, or to OpenAI's GPT-6 Luna if Gemini fails. Each request asks OpenRouter for providers that keep no copy. Nothing else about you or your charts is sent.
Resend
Sends the sign-in emails. It receives your email address and the message with your sign-in link.
Cloudflare
Two jobs. With the sign-in form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a script, is asking for a link; it loads only with that form, and it sees your IP address and details of your browser. Cloudflare also stores and serves the Places map: your browser asks maps.aspicio.app for the parts of the map you look at, without cookies and without saying which page asked.
Stripe
Takes payment if you become a Supporter. It receives your email address and an internal id for your account, and collects your card details itself. Aspicio never sees your card number.
Discord and Railway, if you use the Aspicio bot
If you link Discord, Aspicio keeps your Discord user id and the chart you chose for it. The bot handles ids and finished results (aspects, a chart image and a link) and posts them in the server, where its members can read them. Your birth date, time and place are printed only if you turn that on. A birthday you give the bot, linked or not, keeps the month, the day and a timezone, never the year. The bot runs on Railway.
Porkbun
Forwards mail you send to hello@aspicio.app to the private inbox where we read it.

Search boxes that read plain words

Aspicio is adding search boxes that read a plain sentence, such as “somewhere quiet by the sea in spring”, starting with Settings and Places. They match your words inside your browser first, and matching sends nothing.

Where a box offers Suggest and you are signed in, pressing it sends your sentence to Jev through OpenRouter, as above. On every box, some words are never sent at all. Personal details (email addresses, handles, links, long numbers, written dates and clock times), words about health and words about distress stay in your browser: the box answers them itself, and the server checks again. Suggest reads English only, so text in another language gets the box's own matches and is not sent.

On Places, and later on the compatibility and portrait boxes, these details are masked before your sentence leaves your browser:

  • Place names become [PLACE_1], [PLACE_2] and so on.
  • A time the box has already worked out, such as next spring, becomes [WHEN].
  • Words about partners, sex life and orientation become [RELATION].
  • Religion and life events such as a divorce or a bereavement become [LIFE_EVENT].

Settings masks nothing. A sentence there that mentions partners, sex life, orientation, religion or a life event is not sent at all, and any other sentence goes as you typed it.

Nothing else goes with your words: no birth details, no chart, no saved people and no page address.

Jev picks a setting from a fixed list. It writes nothing, and it can be wrong. Only the setting it picks goes into the page address, never your words. The server counts which box was used and how it went, and keeps none of your words.

If a box reads words about suicide, self-harm or harming someone, it sends nothing and points you to free, confidential helplines through Find A Helpline instead.

Where your data is processed

Our database is in the eastern United States (Ohio), our server code runs in the eastern United States, and TypeSafe says Jev runs in the western United States. The sign-in check and the shared pages described under Vercel are handled on Vercel's network wherever it is nearest to you. If you live elsewhere, your data crosses borders to reach these places, and some of the services above also work from other countries.

Your choices

Edit or delete the people and charts you saved from your account. What you save stays until you delete it or ask us to. What your account stores is summed up in account settings.

To delete your account and everything it holds, or to ask for a copy of it, write to hello@aspicio.app from the address you sign in with. Questions about this notice go to the same address, and other ways to reach us are on Contact us.

Assistant-reviewed. Checked on against the site's code and configuration, OpenRouter's documentation on zero data retention, and the Find A Helpline directory, which answered that day.
